CELEBRATING DIWALI : (Rohini, Babua and Mrs. Nirmal are celebrating Diwali with great pomp and show.)
Mrs. NIRMAL : Rohini, Bring the candles here and decorate the verandah with them.

BABUA : Mamma, when shall we worship Goddess Lakshmi?

Mrs. NIRMAL : Well, after some time.

ROHINI : Why do people worship Goddess Lakshmi?

Mrs NIRMAL : Because she is the Goddess of wealth. She bestows blessings to the persons who worship her.

BABUA : Mamma, why do we celebrate Diwali?

Mrs. NIRMAL : Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya on this day after killing the demon Ravana. People were overjoyed with his arrival and the happy occasion is celebrated all over the world, by Indians, even today.

ROHINI : O'K, lets have some fun now. Lit up some crackers soon.
BABUA : I am going to bring some sweets for all of us.

ROHINI : Oh! I wish this wonderful festival should not end at all! Everyday  should be a Diwali Festival, a day to draw near to our heavenly God!

Conversation Sheet 2 (on 7th Day) : (Memorize and speak aloud)
CIVILIZATION
Mrs SHARMA : What do you mean by the term "Civilization"?

Mr. SHARMA : "Civilization" is the state of being refined, cultured and away from barbarism (Wild Habits).

Mrs. SHARMA : Which is the most civilised country in the World?

Mr. SHARMA : America is the most civilised country of the world. People are highly well-mannered and sophisticated. Their technology is much advanced and superior than that of the rest of the countries.

Mrs. SHARMA : How about our country? Don't you think our civilization is not that advanced?

Mr. SHARMA : Our Nation is a developing nation. Though we have come far away, yet, due to the lack of facilities and encouragement, we are lacking behind, inspite of having the best brains of the world.

Mrs. SHARMA : But there are many people who are highly refined and cultured.

Mr. SHARMA : But they are few in number. Most of us are illiterate and had to face the hard life, which make us heartless and rude.

Mrs. SHARMA : Then, how can we develop the "Civilization" in our Nation?

Mr. SHARMA : We can make our country civilised by developing a healthy atmosphere in our country, eliminating poverty and illiteracy, encouraging scientists and talented people to come up and strengthen our  Nation. We  need genuine leaders whose priority is the Nation's welfare then that of themselves. They should know how to respect the Nation and its citizens. Only then can we become civilised.

Mrs. SHARMA : When shall our Nation too become a developed and civilised Nation?

Mr.SHARMA : I am sure, we shall one day become one of the leading civilised Nations of the world. After all, we are capable of doing wonders. Haven't we shown our talents in various fields? Bachendri Pal conquered Mt. Everest. Arti Saha and Mihir Sen crossed the English Channel. Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to go to the space.

Mrs. SHARMA : That means it is possible to achieve our targets, provided, we have talent in that field, attributed with a will to succeed.

Mr. SHARMA : Yes, Impossible is the word written only in the dictionary. None can create obstacles; if we all join together and bring law and order in our society.
