Add Windows Components
When setting up Windows most people do not install all the components that come with the program. This prevents unneeded components from taking up storage space on the computer.
Note :When adding Windows components, you will be asked to insert the CD-Rom disc you used to install windows.
You can add components  to your computer that were not added when you first set up windows.
  1. Move the mouse over Start and then press the left button.

  2. Move the mouse over Settings and then press the left button.

  3. Move the mouse over Control Panel and then press the left button.
    • The Control Panel window appears.

  4. Move the mouse over Add/Remove Programs and then quickly press the left button twice.
    • The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box appears.

  5. Move the mouse over the Windows Setup tab and press the left button.
    • Note : Windows may take a moment to display the information.

  6. This area displays the categories of components you can add to your computer.

  7. The box beside each category indicates if all ( ) or none ( ) of the components in the category exist on your computer.

  8. To display a description of the components in a category, move the mouse over the category and then press the left button.
    • This area displays a description of the components in the category.

       
  9. To display the components in the category, move the mouse over Details and then press the left button.

  10. The components in the category appear. The box beside each component indicates if the component exists ( ) or does not exist ( ) on your computer.

  11. This area displays a description of the highlighted component.

  12. Move the mouse over the box ( ) beside the component you want to add to your computer and then press the left button ( ) changes to ( ).

  13. To confirm your change, move the mouse over OK and then press the left button.

  14. To close the Add/Remove programs Properties dialog box, move the mouse over OK and then press the left button.

  15. The Insert Disk dialog appears, asking you to insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM Disc.

  16. Insert the CD-ROM disc into the drive.

  17. To continue, move the mouse over OK and then press the left button.
